Club Overview

Corstorphine Dynamo, formed in 2015 by Aaron Moffat and a group of friends, were created so they could experience the enjoyment of playing organised football alongside the positive social aspects playing for a football club brings.

‘Dynamo’ have started to grow – and with massive ambitions and aspirations to be a force for good in the community, we are looking to take the next step on our journey, with your help.

One of the clubs biggest beliefs is that football can be used for the greater good. In the UK, football is one of the most powerful tools in interacting with the community and enforcing positive change – and that’s something Dynamo want to contribute to. In 2015, we formed with just 1 Sunday Amateur team, in the lowest division of the league structure – just 3 seasons later and we are now playing in the Premier Division of the Lothian and Edinburgh AFA, were runners up in the Edinburgh Cup 2017/18, missing out on our 1st piece of silverware on penalties while assembling a consistent squad of dedicated players and coaches that represent the club and it’s values.

This has given us the boost we needed to further explore our ambitions in the community, on and off the pitch. June 2018 will see us forming a 2nd team to play in the local Saturday leagues – allowing another group of players to feel part of our unique club, while working positively in our various ‘off the pitch’ ventures. In partnership with local boys clubs and schools, we have also started the ball rolling for our very own soccer school; “Dinky Dynamos” is set to be up and running by the end of the year – contributing postivley in the lives of Edinburgh’s young aspiring footballers, while giving back to the Edinburgh community.

We are constantly working, both short-term and long-term, on plans to become a major part of the community in Edinburgh. Part of this, and a club value that we have lived by since formation, is acting like a professional club despite being amateur – we take our social and ethical responsibilities seriously, we contribute to the local community positively, we work with a ‘charity partner’ each season, we have team meals before big games, we provide players with benefits; such as full tracksuits and training kits, we undertake coaching badges and accreditations normally not considered at this level all while operating on a unique ethos that demands professionalism and respect from players and coaches alike.

Why Corstorphine Dynamo?

We have achieved a lot in our 1st 3 years, not just on the pitch but also off the pitch.

See some of our highlights below

  • Took part in the “BT Sport Pub Cup” at Easter Road, home of Hibernian FC

  • Featured in the Edinburgh Evening News Football Round up 3 times.

  • Manager Aaron Moffat was interviewed on Midlothian Radio Station BDFM.

  • Took part in a charity match raising over £2300 for Teenage Cancer Trust

  • Donated 10% of our fundraising to St Columba’s Hospice in 2016 (We are looking to set up a charity partner again for the upcoming season)

How can you help us make a difference?

The club have made so much progress and impacted positively on so many people in it’s short life – but we need help from the vibrant Edinburgh business community to continue the work we do in being a football club with a difference.

The club have several sponsorship packages which can suit any level of business or organisation looking to get involved in the work we do.

What do I get?

As well as the advertising and exposure you gain, you will be helping support a local club while ensuring the work we do in the community continues.

The exposure and positive PR which we can generate could be massive for your business!

All of our packages offer different levels of exposure which is detailed in the section below - this can range from having your logo displayed on club kit to advertising on our page and (soon to be re-launched) website.

On social media we try our best to be interactive with other users to keep our profiles active and for example our last 3 tweets (21st May) has reached over 8000 people through retweets and our Facebook reach on 13th May - 19th May was 8600+. We understand how important social media is for organisations and businesses - rather than the old fashion advert in a paper or yellow pages  - and this is something we look to take advantage of by building a social media policy so we have consistent and promotional posts on social media numerous times a week.
